Nutrition doesn’t have to be complicated! Together we can come up with ways to improve your overall health, including making sure you are eating enough macronutrients (carbs, proteins, fats) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals), adapting an exercise regimen, improving energy levels and sleep quality. Adequate nutrition can help prevent development of disease and complications, and starting early can save you money in the long run, as well as improve your overall quality of life!

Diabetes Prevention and Management

If you were diagnosed with diabetes/prediabetes and are avoiding or afraid of carbohydrates, then this counseling is for you! Carbohydrates are good for us (yes, even those of us with diabetes!) and I can help you adapt three simple practices that will reduce your fear of carbohydrates, help keep your blood sugar in balance giving you more energy, prevent further disease complications and keep your glucose and A1c numbers in a healthy range!

Heart Disease and High Blood Pressure

Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. If you have a personal or family history of heart disease, high cholesterol/triglycerides, or high blood pressure, but fear giving up the foods you love, then you’ve come to the right place! A heart healthy diet can still be delicious, and together we can come up with an individualized diet for you that will help to protect one of your most precious organs!

Sports Nutrition

As a former dancer, then runner, now weightlifter/powerlifter, I have seen firsthand the power nutrition has on improvement of athletic performance! Whether you are an endurance or power athlete, a combination of the two, or maybe a former athlete looking to adapt to life post sport, I can help you utilize food as fuel to beat your personal best, as well as provide you with science backed guidance on safe supplementation!

Weight Management

When working with me to lose weight, I will first help you be sure that your mindset is healthy, and that your desire to change your body is for the right reasons. We will then implement sustainable lifestyle changes, focusing on adding foods and habits to your diet, eating intuitively, and joyful body movement, whatever that means for you! Weight loss will likely be slow and steady, but this ensures long term success so that you can free yourself from the cycle of dieting and focus instead on enjoying your life.

If your desire is to gain healthy weight, we will work on slowly adding foods to your diet that are packed with nutrients and calories, to encourage weight gain without adverse effects such as overfullness.

Eating Disorders

Eating disorder recovery requires treatment from an interdisciplinary treatment team I can work alongside your therapist and doctors to help you heal your relationship with food. Together we can come up with a meal plan that works for your taste preferences and your body, we can discuss the benefits of adequate nutrition in detail, and we can learn to implement intuitive eating principles to help you enjoy food again.

PCOS and Hormonal Health

PCOS is a complex, often-misunderstood condition. I believe it should be treated holistically, meaning use of diet and lifestyle to heal your body inside and out. I can help those with insulin resistant PCOS create a healthy diet that lowers blood sugars and improves symptoms overall. I can help those with inflammatory PCOS to sustainably decrease consumption of trigger foods to help heal their body. We can work together to increase healthy fats in the diet to restore irregular periods. I can also help interpret bloodwork to determine which path to healing may be right for you!
